New Delhi: In an attempt to provide purified water to the passengers at the railways stations, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has taken an initiative where it has set up ‘water point’ stalls at various railway stations to provide cheap yet purified water to the passengers.
The water which is being provided at these stalls is purified through a seven stage RO mechanism and is germ free.
One can fill their own bottles or containers by paying just Re 1 for 300 ml. In case passengers do not have any container of their own, they can purchase containers from the water stalls at a meagre cost.
Currently this facility is available at Anand Vihar Railway station in New Delhi and at Kanpur railway station.
A move like this in a time when the heat wave continues to torment people, seems to be a good initiative by IRCTC to provide cheap and purified water, something good for the poor and common man.
